What is Fetchit®
Fetchit® is proprietary software Schultz Technology acquired from The Pet Hospital Solutions LLC in 2020. It gives a clinic instant access to customer information from their practice management software (PMS, sometimes called the CRM) the moment the phone rings, so whoever answers already has the client's chart and their appointment history on screen.
That skips the opening round of data collection: who is speaking, when they last came in, what the pet's condition is. It saves several minutes per call, shortens customer call time, and raises both call volume and customer satisfaction.
This guide covers setting up the Fetchit desktop application and installing it on servers and workstations as needed.
There is a legacy version of Fetchit built by The Pet Hospital Solutions before the acquisition. To install or troubleshoot that version, use the legacy Fetchit guide on ITGlue, not this one. To replace it, see Upgrading from legacy Fetchit.
Before you start
You need access to all of the following. If you do not have one of them, ask in the IT Teams chat before going any further.
- ConnectWise Control (ScreenConnect), to reach the clinic's machines.
- Fetchit Orion, at orion.fetchitdata.cloud, signed in with your Schultz Technology Microsoft account.
- Which phone system the clinic uses, one of Clear Voice (CoreDial), Ring Central, White Label, Skyswitch, or a CallerID Vertex box when it is none of those.
- The clinic's practice management software, and credentials for it.
How an installation goes
An installation is four stages, in this order. Each one produces something the next stage needs, so work through them in sequence rather than jumping to the install.
- Configure the phone system. Set the clinic up with their provider so Fetchit can watch for incoming calls. This is where the credentials Orion needs come from.
- Gather the PMS settings. Collect the API keys, clinic IDs and database details for whichever practice management software the clinic runs.
- Create the client in Orion. Make the client entry, add a licence, create the phone system worker, and enter the PMS credentials.
- Install the desktop application. On the server, the workstations, or both, depending on the PMS and phone system.
Then test it with Broadcast before you hand the clinic back.
Every username, password, API key and token you create along the way belongs in the client's ITGlue entry. These pages deliberately do not repeat them.
